A variety of Asian artworks adorn this 4-bedroom, 4 bath property; the flavour of the Far East is evident to its very name! The heart of Indochine is its tropical loggia and a nearby courtyard for quiet repose, reading or conversation; the living room is enclosed with the help of six sets of French doors to allow trade winds to cool its interior. The generous chef's kitchen is a fully-equipped and open plan creation, with formal dining space that may be opened to the loggia/courtyard gardens (via two glass-paned doors) as you choose.
On this level, one king and two queen ensuite bedrooms provide luxurious and quiet respite from long days at sea or on the beach, sightseeing or shopping. There is one more ensuite king below, and an exercise/TV room with queen sleeper sofa with advance notice. The upper bedrooms feature calming themes; the lower bedroom's unique styling incorporates vibrant Caribbean colours. All bedrooms feature Caribbean art work, ceiling fans and plenty of closet space; the Master also features an outdoor bamboo-screened shower. From each of the bedrooms, exit through French doors onto outdoor terraces.
Polished coral stone steps take you down to the poolside terrace which enjoys the natural shade of local greenery, caressing breezes, and stunning views of the ocean and islands into seeming infinity. A cultivated garden path up the hill provides access to a "meditation" pavilion and an even more advantageous spot from which to absorb the beauty that lies beyond in the turquoise blue of the sea, azure skies and the majestic grandeur of the island chain as it wends through the ocean.
Indochine's mid-island location makes it convenient to points north, south, east or west; by car, you can head to Magens Bay Beach or go further west to Hull Bay or take in a north side drive to enjoy Drake's Seat or Mountain Top. The ferries to St. John or the British Virgin Islands, as well as pleasure boats are available as you venture eastward; Market Square East with its shopping (bulk grocer Cost U Less), gym (Xtreme Fitness), or movie theater (Caribbean Cinemas) is very near more shopping for groceries at Price Smart or Plaza Extra at Tutu Park Mall (which also has a KMart). Further into Tutu is the Tillett's complex with its artisans and Pistarckle Theater for seasonal presentations of theatrical productions. Downtown is the other way, for walking tours of historic Charlotte Amalie, bars, cafes, restaurants, and shopping for art, jewelry, perfumes, souvenirs, local delicacies, and attractions such as Magic Ice and the Paradise Point Tramway.
Many decide to not leave the comforts of Indochine to shop for groceries, having pre-stocked the villa with food and drink, have massage and spa services delivered, utilize the services of a chef, and enjoy electronic entertainment, reading, and re-connecting during your stay.
